French Hairstyle - Kinds of Hair Styling

The French have introduced several kinds of hairdos that have either retained its charm or undergone specific transformations. There are many revolutionary hairstyles that originate from France. French hairstyle(s) can many times be worn to a formal occasion or even in a casual setting. The classic French braid sweeps hair from the sides of the head towards the top and centre to create a neat and chic appearance. The beautiful French twist is ideal for prom, wedding or any informal party. The French roll hairdo is an archetypal example of a versatile hairdo where hair is combed into a ponytail and subsequently swept into a roll along the back of your head. High rolls are also excellent examples of a French hairstyle. French hairstyles parted in the center were considered trendy during the Victorian Era and also gaining popularity in the modern day as well.

French Twist Hairstyle - Procedure and Variations

To create the French twist hairstyle, you need to comb or brush hair smoothly back from forehead and collect at nape to the left like a low ponytail. Hold hair 3 inches from tips and twist hair to right while lifting to ensure ends point up and create a roll or twist at the back of head. Hold ends even tighter such that ends stick out of the top. Using your right hand, fold ends towards nape and under the twist. With your left hand, hold twist in place while pinning with bobby pins. Secure hair using adequate number of pins so that the French twist hairstyle stays in place. Finish the hairstyling process with a good hair spray. You can choose to curl ends or leave them straight or even spike them for a casual effect. A half French twist can also be done or hair ornaments can be used to dress up the twist.

French Roll Hairstyle - Elegant Styling

Most weddings have the brides do up their hair in a French roll hairstyle. Trying out popular roll hairdos is a common approach by wedding hairstylists. To create a hanging roll in a French roll, part hair area by area and pin up neatly on the sides and crown and prepare hanging rolls using pins. Dignity roll with finger rolls and double French rolls with C-curlers are two other popular roll hairdos at weddings. A French roll can be done for short, thick or hard to hold hair as well when you have the right hairstyling products. Handling a French roll all by yourself is not complex. Alternatively, you can hire a stylist to create a chic and neat appearance.
