Gucci is a French company owned by Guccio Gucci. The company was established in the year 1921 in Florence. While Guccio was working in exclusive hotels in Paris and London, he was exalted to see his customers carrying luxurious luggage. Guccio returned to his home town and opened a shop in 1920 and began to sell fine leather products. Guccio with the help of his three sons eventually established the company and today Gucci is one of the biggest selling Italian apparel brands in the world, which stood at 41st position as per the chart created by “Intrabrand” in 2009. Today this company is known for leather products, Gucci clothes and other fashion products over worldwide. Gucci’s famous line of clothes include the one with a bamboo style handle, the use of animal and satin skins in clothes, waterproof canvas, and dark colored and sleek apparels. Some Gucci clothes include the layered tops, the trench coat jackets and skinny pants. Moreover, the ready to wear line was launched by Tom Ford and Dawn Mello, in order to leverage Gucci’s upscale appeal. In the year 1998, the company was labeled as ‘European company of the year’.

It was after the launch of “Flora Motive” in the year 1966, the company’s clothing segment flourished world wide and was a better known brand among the masses.
