Though what one wears at night is not displayed in public, it is still important that they are cozy so that one can relax in it. Even when they are limited to the bedroom, night clothes still offer several options.

Night Clothes - Not Just for Comfort

Wearing night clothes can have several purposes. It is worn based on the seasons; warm during the winter and cool during the summer. It is also worn for visual appeal. There are several types of night clothes to achieve a specific purpose not only for adults but for kids as well. For comfort, some women typically wear babydolls, nightgowns or nightshirts. Some others wear more fashionable and glamourous stuff like negligees, chemises or peignoirs. Babies often wear blanket sleepers while children wear pajamas. Men, on the other hand, prefer to wear shorts as night dress. Nightwear made of cotton is considered the most comfortable wear for people all ages.

Night Costume - Dress for Fun

When one thinks of a night costume, what often comes to mind is Halloween attire or dresses worn to stag or hen night parties. Spooky, fairy tale and superhero costumes are the norm. But there are some costumes which are totally surprising, like a scene costume showing a lamp shade for a headpiece and a drawer for a body apparel. Others depict movie characters, national costumes or the current sensational or controversial personality. A night costume, such as a belly dancer or Arabian princess costume, minus the accessories can also be used for sleeping comfortably. It just takes creativity to produce a stunning and memorable costume not only for spectators but the wearer as well.

Night Outfits - Dress Sense

Since sleeping is giving in to unconsciousness, it makes sense to don something that allows one to relax and not be disturbed by sweat or cold. A good night outfit for warm nights should allow for ventilation such as a loose-fitting and sleeveless nightgown. It should be made of a comfy material such as silk or satin. Silk is a very versatile material in that it provides warmth when the night is cold and coolness when the night is warm. If the weather is very hot, opt for cotton clothing. For cold nights, a nightshirt or pajamas made of synthetic fibers will do.
